Separett Villa is the most advanced, trouble free compost toilet available for on grid or off-grid living. It is waterless and urine diverting and with its simplicity and unlimited capacity it offers a comfortable toilet visit. Thanks to the urine separation, both the smell and the volume of the waste that must be disposed of are reduced. With the strong 12V fan, the toilet can handle installations up to 20 feet long and with up to three 90° elbows.

The toilet can be operated with 110-240 V AC or with 12 V DC solar cell / battery power. The fan has very low energy consumption of 0.06 kWh / 24h and is therefore suitable for battery or solar cell operation as well. The battery and battery cables are not included.

The Separett Villa is a waterless compost toilet engineered for simplicity, reliability, and comfort. HOW THE SEPARETT VILLA WORKS

The Separett Villa is a waterless, urine-diverting toilet. The bowl separates urine from solid waste at the point of use. Urine drains through a dedicated hose, while solid waste and toilet paper collect in a compostable liner bag inside the removable six-gallon container.

A continuously operating 12V fan draws air through the solid-waste area and vents it outdoors. This ventilation helps remove moisture and control odors. Because the urine is separated and the solids are ventilated, the Villa does not require coconut coir, peat moss, or another bulking material.

INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS

The Villa requires:

• A ventilation route to the outdoors
• A suitable destination for the separated urine
• Access to 110–240V AC power or a properly configured 12V DC power source
• A location where the toilet can be secured to the wall, floor, or both
• Compliance with applicable local building, plumbing, and waste-disposal regulations

VENTILATION CONNECTION

The ventilation outlet is located at the rear of the toilet and is designed for 3-inch Schedule 20 or Schedule 40 PVC pipe. Although commonly referred to as a 3-inch vent, Schedule 40 pipe has an outside diameter of approximately 3.5 inches.

The vent can be routed through a wall, floor, or roof. The Villa supports ventilation runs of up to 20 feet with a maximum of three 90-degree bends.

The included straight ventilation pipe is intended for a basic installation directly through the wall behind the toilet. Additional PVC pipe and fittings must be purchased separately for longer or more complex installations.

The included exterior vent cowl contains an insect screen. The vent and screen should remain accessible for inspection and cleaning.

URINE-HOSE CONNECTION

The Villa includes a flexible 6.6-foot urine hose measuring approximately 1¼ inches in diameter. It attaches at the rear of the toilet using the included straight connector or 90-degree elbow.

The urine hose must maintain a continuous downward slope of approximately 0.8 inch per 40 inches of run. Avoid low points and bends that could create standing liquid or air pockets.

The urine may be routed to an approved greywater system, infiltration system, or sealed collection container. If the hose passes through an insulated wall or wall cavity, Separett recommends running it through a protective pipe to reduce the risk of damage. Longer runs should transition to a larger-diameter pipe as described in the installation manual.

Always follow local regulations governing urine and greywater disposal.

SOLID-WASTE HANDLING AND ABSORBENT MATERIAL

Solid waste and toilet paper collect in a compostable liner bag inside the removable six-gallon container. The material is not fully composted when removed from the toilet and must be handled according to Separett’s instructions and local regulations.

No agitator or routinely added bulking material is required. Separett advises against adding loose bulking material because it fills the container more quickly and fine particles could enter the ventilation system.

A sample of Separett Absorb is included. It may be placed in the liner bag if excess moisture is present but is not required for normal operation.
