Can two of these systems be banked together without complicated wiring to home? Can a compatible turbine be tied in as well, and what design considerations for addition wind turbine should be considered?
A) Yes, the two systems can be connected really straightforward. The main point about connecting the inverter in parallel is to ensure the two inverters share the same inputs and outputs. For instance, both inverters should be connected to the same battery bank, rather than each inverter having its own sets of batteries. I am attaching a diagram from the use manual as reference on how the system looks when it is connected in parallel.
2. Can a compatible turbine be tied in as well, and what design considerations for addition wind turbine should be considered?SungoldPower does not recommend using wind turbines given that the units are not designed for it. The solar inverter MPPT expect a PV I-V curve and operates over a defined PV voltage range. A wind turbine produces a completely different voltage current relationship that varies with rotor speed. Without a wind-specific controller the MPPT tracking won't operate correctly and the inverter could fault or be damaged.
