Fitted with a 4" vent stack for natural odor control, the 2000 NE supports a longer composting cycle and larger waste volumes than the 1000 series, making it the right choice for medium to heavy seasonal use or light residential applications in off-grid settings. Like all Centrex systems, the composter unit installs away from the toilet — in a basement, crawl space, or mechanical room — while one or more 1-pint ultra-low flush toilets (purchased separately) sit in the bathroom above. No fan, no heater, no electrical connection required. For heavy seasonal or residential installations, an optional 12V fan is recommended and available separately.
