For best service life, SunGoldPower recommends keeping it below 122°F, in a well-ventilated spot out of direct sun. Batteries (SG48100P): They can be installed there, but they won’t charge below freezing. Charging range: 32°F to 113°F. The battery management system blocks charging when cell temperature falls to about 23°F, and these batteries have no built-in heater. Discharging range: -4°F to 140°F. The batteries can still power your loads at 0°F, but solar and grid won’t recharge them until the cells warm above freezing. Enclosure: The batteries are IP20 (not weather-sealed) and cool passively. The kit’s enclosed battery cabinet, inside a dry shed, keeps them protected. To make winter work in an unheated shed: Insulate the battery cabinet or a section of the shed, and add a small thermostatically controlled heater to keep the batteries above 32°F.
